Kaywa QR Code generator and QR Code Reader

An example on the QR-Code generator on qrcode.kaywa.com and the QR-Code reader which can be downloaded from http ive been having a lot of fun with these recently :D normally the reader will use a mac’s iSight camera if it has one, but it switches to any USB webcam that may be plugged in, making reading a code off of your screen easier. the more characters you add the larger it will be, even with just 250 spaces, its pretty huge @_@ From what ive read, they are a sort of high capacity barcode, which contain more information that the average lined ones. you may have seen them on a coke bottle at some point or even in the game, Borderlands. They dont have to be just used for item info and shipping stuff, mostly you can generate one as a personal “tag”, or leave a message for friends etc – the text i type in is “i like turtles”, scanning the barcode generated in this video should produce that message -

We stumbled upon a site that allows you to create your own QR (quick read or quick response) codes. Curiously, I checked to see if the Barcode Reader on my Nexus One would also read the QR-codes…Yes, yes it did! I guess people with other cell phone platforms have to download a special app in order to read QR-Codes, but people lucky enough to be on Android do not have to put up with any awkward 3rd party apps to read the barcodes. @adam_maikkula I had not seen any videos about this before, so my neighbor Jeph Jondahl and I shot a quick vid demoing the experience.
